Mujeebur Rehman’s dominating performance with the bat and the ball helped lead the Barbados Royals to victory.

The Barbados Royals, captained by Mujibur Rahman, prevailed against the Guyana Amazon Warriors by a score of 29 runs in the 22nd match of the 2022 Caribbean Premier League.

The Barbados Royals took the field first and batted for 16 overs, scoring 107 runs while losing 6 players. As a result, the opposing side was given a goal of 108 runs to reach.

Jason Holder scored 40 unbroken runs for Barbados off of 33 balls, but Mujeebur Rehman made the game pleasant by scoring 19 unbeaten runs off of 9 balls. These runs included three fours and a six. Rehman’s performance made the game enjoyable in the end.

The opposition side was unable to score and only managed to score 81 runs while losing 9 players over the course of 16 overs.

Mujeebur Rahman’s bowling was also quite impressive; he had one maiden throughout the course of four overs, during which he allowed four runs and took one wicket. Holder was selected as the game’s top performer by the commentators.

With a decisive win in the DLS match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, the Barbados Royals ensured that they will participate in the postseason of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

After winning the coin toss and debating whether or not to bat first, the Amazon Warriors went ahead and started batting. It turned out that their choice was the correct one.

Only a late order rally from Jason Holder and Mujeeb Ur Rahman ensured that the Royals ended with a reasonable total of 107/6 from an innings that was shortened to 16 overs due to rain. The Amazon Warriors made it difficult for the Royals to negotiate the conditions by taking wickets at regular intervals.

However, that number was more than plenty since Royal’s bowling assault did not give the Amazon Warriors any easy runs when they were given the opportunity to bat. They ensured that the run rate became unsustainable when the Royals were easily cruising to victory thanks to Mujeeb and Rahkeem Cornwall’s leadership.

The cadre of spinners who were fielded by the Guyana Amazon Warriors dominated the game and were responsible for all six wickets that fell during the Barbados Royals’ innings.

Imran Tahir had the Royals reduced to 62/5 when the rain delay occurred, and then shortly after the restart, he removed David Miller. However, Jason Holder and Mujeeb Ur Rahman put together a partnership of 39 runs off of 16 balls to give the Royals a total to defend.

Amazon Warriors appeared to have an edge with 111 to win, but Mujeeb and Rahkeem Cornwall delivered spellbinding bowling in the first four overs to limit the Warriors to 12 runs while losing one wicket. This resulted in the Warriors losing the game.

The Amazon Warriors were unable to get going due to the disciplined bowling effort put on by the Royals, which increased the amount of pressure that was being put on them by a large number of dot balls.

The Royals coasted to a victory by a margin of 29 runs at the conclusion of a game that had the makings of being a close contest but instead ended up being an easy win for them.
